Sol-Ark 5K-1P-N Single-Phase Hybrid Inverter

The Sol-Ark 5K-1P-N combines solar conversion, battery charging and backup operation for a residential power system. The selected 120 V model supplies up to 4,800 W continuously and accepts up to 10,400 W of PV input at standard test conditions. Two MPPTs support two strings each, with a 500 V maximum open-circuit input and a 20 A operating-current limit per tracker.

Monitoring and battery configuration

The included Wi-Fi/Ethernet dongle supports remote monitoring, and MySolArk supports viewing system operation and remotely adjusting inverter settings. Internet access and network setup are required. The inverter has an LCD touchscreen, CANBus/RS485 battery communications and support for 48 V lithium or lead-acid battery configurations. Configure charging for the specific battery; closed-loop communication requires a tested supported battery and its prescribed cable, protocol and settings. The battery integration guide describes additional compatibility and warranty conditions. All inverters in a parallel installation must connect to one shared battery bank; separate battery banks are not permitted in that configuration.

Installation and backup requirements

The inverter is supplied with the mounting and communication components listed below. A complete installation also requires correctly sized conductors, strain reliefs, grounding and external protection. A 50 A grid disconnect and an external battery breaker are required; breaker sizing and wiring must meet the local Authority Having Jurisdiction and the manufacturer’s instructions. Grid/load terminals accept 8–6 AWG conductors. Installation must be performed by qualified personnel.

The essential-loads panel must stay within the selected unit’s limits: 4.8 kW / 40 A at 120 V when supplied from battery or PV, or 50 A grid passthrough. Do not connect the grid to the LOAD output, reverse battery polarity or exceed 500 V open circuit on an MPPT. PV-string voltage must be checked at the minimum design temperature. Strings paralleled on the same tracker must have matching designed open-circuit voltage.

Warranty and location

The manufacturer provides a 10-year limited inverter warranty; the LCD screen and fans have five-year coverage. Terms, exclusions and the required completed installation verification checklist apply. Protect the LCD from direct sunlight and keep Auto Dim enabled as required by the manual. The IP65/NEMA 3R enclosure supports indoor or outdoor wall mounting with the specified clearance and temperature limits.
